Here are a few simple but powerful Personal Success Tips I implemented over a year ago:
I got more sleep. For years, I tried to get to bed by Midnight but rarely did. I couldn’t fall asleep even when I did lie down because the day’s problems were still running through my head. This year, I moved my bedtime up by 15 minutes to 11:45, and I no longer let myself think about stressful topics after 11:15. I spend the final 30 minutes of my day relaxing. From: Mehmet Oz, MD
I “micro cleaned.” Tasks such as vacuuming the house or scrubbing the refrigerator can take the better part of an hour. I could never find that much time and many To Dos never got done. Now, rather than sit through three-to-four (or longer) commercial breaks…stand around for the three minutes it takes my microwave to heat up leftovers…or waste the spare moments between other responsibilities, I used these brief windows of time to attack a cleaning chore. It’s amazing how much you can get done in a few minutes when you know the clock is ticking. I can unload the dishwasher…vacuum one room…or clean out a shelf in the refrigerator, while my microwave is running or while I am on hold. The only time I spend cleaning is time I would otherwise wasted. From: Heloise www.heloise.com
I practiced gratitude almost continuously. In 2008, I renewed my focus on gratitude. This was the 1 magic bullet I got from ‘The Secret.’ I woke in the morning thinking thoughts of gratitude for my bed and the unknown day before me. I expressed gratitude for my shower, my clothes, my breakfast, my home and all the people I know. I felt gratitude for my business, my coworkers and my friends. I felt gratitude for my health. Gratitude has made me calmer and happier, even during difficult times. It really beats fear and complaining. Try it out.

I increased my insurance deductibles and eliminated unnecessary coverage. I decided to increase the deductibles on my homeowner’s and auto insurance policies from $250 to $1,000 and eliminate the collision and comprehensive coverage. This saves me between $1,000 and $2,000 per year without increasing my risk. From: Jonathan Pond, a financial planner.
